  • Site study for developing Kristineberg Marine Research Station

    [9 Jun 2020] University of Gothenburg and Akademiska Hus have jointly produced a site study for the university's joint research station at Kristineberg.

  • New Skagerak will be completed in Gothenburg

    [16 Mar 2020] Today the University of Gothenburg takes over the ownership of the new vessel Skagerak. This means that the ship will now be towed to Gothenburg for completion.

    [3 Mar 2020] New visiting address to Tjärnö Marine Laboratory is Laboratorievägen 10, Strömstad.

  • Improvements in the Tjärnö Laboratory dining hall

    [14 Feb 2020] In the Tjärnö Marine Laboratory dining hall, off-season progress has been made. In December the old serving counter was replaced by a modern one. In January all four of the kitchen staff were inspired to renew the vegetarian menu.

  • Little Blue films in the big blue

    [24 Jan 2020] The Tjärnö Marine Laboratory has aquired a smaller remotely operated vehicle. It is battery driven, reaches to 100 metres depth and is equipped with HD video camera, one-function manipulator, positioning system and side-scan sonar.

    [17 Jan 2020] We are happy to announce the 6th International European Scientific Diving Course "Certified Research Diver/European Scientific Diver" in Tvärminne Marine Center in Finland and in Kristineberg Marine Research Station in Sweden.

  • Re-equipped research vessel Alice - an appreciated addition at Kristineberg

    [23 Oct 2019] At Kristineberg Marine Research Station the research vessel Alice has been re-equipped and updated. She will be a much needed resource for monitoring, research and education.

  • New mooring buoy deployed in the Koster fjord

    [9 Oct 2019] A new mooring buoy has been deployed west of Yttre Vattenholmen in the Koster fjord. It is used by boats who uses a remotely operated underwater vehicle to film marine life on larger depths.
